Summary, etc Dembski and Shanks talk about whether or not the complexities of nature imply an intelligent designer, i.e. God. Dembski claims that evidence exists to suggest that such a designer did play a role. Shanks argues that there is no scientific evidence for such a being, and the fact that scientists have not been able to answer certain questions should not be considered evidence of the existence of a higher power. Slides are shown during the presentations. Following prepared remarks, the speakers respond to questions from the audience. Mr. Dembski is the author of The design revolution: answering the toughest questions about intelligent design. Mr. Shanks wrote God, the devil, and Darwin: a critique of intelligent design theory
