Kate L. Turabian died in 1987 after the publication of the fifth edition, which was revised by members of the Press editorial staff; they also revised the sixth and seventh editions. For the seventh edition, Booth, Colomb and Williams expanded the focus of the book by adding extensive new material adapted from their book The craft of research.
